3 Signs Your Content Strategy Is Holding You Back (And How to Fix It)
Why Your Content Isn't Working and How to Build a System That Drives Growth
Most life coaches and creators struggle with content.
They post consistently but don’t see results. Their engagement is low, their audience isn’t growing, and their content doesn’t generate leads.
If that sounds familiar, your content strategy may be the problem.
The signs that I want to share with you right now are what I’ve experienced before, which leads me to failures. How I define failures is how I gain no growth towards my audience, post content with no conversion to clients, and burn out of no progress.
So, I’ve been there, but I will help you to avoid mistakes that I’ve made and achieve success.
There will be signs and then the solution to fix the problems. So, there’s not just generic advice, but real practical advice.
Feel free to customize or use it in your content strategy.
Here are three signs that your content strategy is holding you back and how to fix those problems:
Sign #1: You’re Posting Randomly Without a Clear System
Many coaches and creators post whatever comes to mind, hoping something will go viral.
And yeah, it’s great to post something when an idea comes to mind. But without a proper system to digest, write, and turn it into reality, you might get held back from your real potential. Don’t let that be you.
Use a system.
Without it, your content lacks consistency and direction.
Implement the ‘Systemized Writing’ Framework.
Systemized writing is a framework that will help you achieve structured writing success.
This includes:
Niche
Content Pillars
High-quality Content
Repurpose
Distribute
So, do this:
Find a niche (a specific one)
Make content pillars based on that niche.
Build high-quality content that could be repurposable.
Repurpose into different formats
Distribute it into different platforms.
Now, you are clear and know what to do, right?
Instead of writing randomly, here’s an example to do all of those:
Niche: helping college students achieve high GPAs with special productivity methods
Content Pillars: Productivity, Time Management, Discipline Methods
High-quality content: a long-form thought leadership article
Repurpose: turn the article into short forms, carousels, and infographics.
Distribute: short forms for Twitter/X, a carousel for LinkedIn, and infographics for LinkedIn.
Here are formulas to help you achieve an effective process:
Use the Client Attraction Formula→ Write using a hook, story, and value, and end with a CTA.
Batch & Repurpose Content→ Write an article on Monday and repurpose it for a week.
Follow the 1–5–10 Method — (1) Long-form article → (5) Short-form posts → (10) Engaging comments.
You can access all of the formulas fully in my FREE 5-day Email Course.
And yeah, don’t forget to do some engagement.
More explanation about engagement in the next one.
Sign #2: Your Content Makes You Like A Beginner
If your content isn’t attracting engagement or building credibility, it may be too generic.
Thought leadership content should showcase your expertise and unique perspective. These are included in the content pillars. You need to make your content include expertise, experience, and credibility.
Here’s how to fix it:
The 3-Part Thought Leadership Formula:
Creativity (unique insights),
Experience (your story),
Practical Advice (implementation guide).
Example:
unique insights → Your own different perspective
The result is useless.
experience → Your own experience (doesn’t have to be special, just be honest)
The key to achieving success is not the result. And if you think that your one way of success is defined by results, you are headed to failure. Because it’s not going to work if you are only focusing on results.
The key to achieving success is actually progress, and not results.
Most of my time was spent on achieving results. Without a result, I will define myself as a failure. This mindset eventually leads me to burnout.
And the only way for me to get out of this situation is by focusing on progress.
Progress is what remains when results are achieved.
practical advice → (a step-by-step guide to implement your advice)
Here’s how to focus on progress more than results:
1. Turn activities into a habit.
2. Build a system for your daily goals.
3. Give yourself a reward after making some progress.
This will eventually lead you to become an expert.
Because the key to being seen as an expert is credibility from your experience and expertise from your practical advice.
Sign #3: You Left Your Readers Hanging
If your audience isn’t turning into clients, your content strategy might lack a clear call-to-action (CTA).
Yeah, you have written great content.
Yeah, you have made a great story.
Yeah, you have made a great offer.
But you leave your readers hanging.
So, here’s how to fix it:
Create Strategic CTA Posts
This is not an ordinary call to action. And I will share with you how to make an effective call to action.
✅ Use a Mix of Soft & Direct CTAs — Educate first, then invite readers to take action. (Example: “If you want to build a systemized content strategy, DM me ‘System.’)
✅ Offer Freebies to Build Trust — Use lead magnets like free ebooks, free email courses, and free checklists to show them the value you are given is legit.
✅ Share Case Studies & Social Proof — Share with your readers the real results you get from the strategies you’ve made to build credibility.
A content strategy without clear CTAs is a wasted opportunity.
Make sure your audience knows how to work with you by following a link, website, or call.
Build a System That Works for You
You now know the importance of the system.
You now know how to become an expert.
You now know how to lead your readers.
Now, how to make it into one system:
Make a Systemize Writing using the framework I’ve given you in sign #1.
Use the 3-part Thought Leadership Formula in each of your pieces of content.
And add a call-to-action (CTA) in your content.
If your content strategy is holding you back, it’s time to fix it.
